Best AI Interview Platform for Practice: 10 Tools Compared by Round

Satvik ParamkushamUpdated October 5, 202612 min read

Quick answer

The best AI interview platform depends on the round you are preparing for. Use Aced (formerly Exponent) or Gemini Live for spoken mock interviews, LeetCode, InterviewBit or HackerRank for coding rounds, Yoodli for delivery and filler words, and Unrot AI's role-specific decks for AI concept questions. Several offer free tiers.

We make Unrot AI. It appears on this list because it fits the category, and we have tried to judge it by the same standard as every other option.

"AI interview platform" means two very different things. Recruiters use AI platforms to screen and interview candidates. Candidates use AI platforms to practise. This page is about the second kind: tools that help you rehearse, get feedback and walk into the real interview calmer.

We checked ten tools on their official pages in October 2026 and sorted them by the round they help with most: spoken mock interviews, AI concept questions, coding rounds and communication. Pair this list with our free AI interview questions library, which has role-specific question sets you can practise with any of these tools.

What is an AI interview platform?

An AI interview platform is software that uses AI to run, score or support a job interview. For candidates, it usually means a mock interviewer that asks questions, listens to your answers and gives feedback on content and delivery.

It helps to know which side a tool is on:

  • Practice tools (for candidates): mock interviews, question banks, feedback on your answers and speaking style. Everything on this list belongs here.
  • Recruiter-side tools (for employers): one-way video interviews, AI screening and coding assessments that companies send you as part of hiring. HackerRank, for example, sells coding tests and an AI interviewer to employers while also offering free practice to candidates.

If a company sends you an AI-led video interview, practise in a similar format first: a timed question, a camera on and no second attempt.

What happened to Google Interview Warmup?

Google Interview Warmup is no longer available at its old address: in October 2026 its page redirects to a general Grow with Google article on interview tips. We could not find the tool live, so it is not on this list.

That same Google article now suggests a different free option: using Gemini Live in the Gemini mobile app to simulate a real-time conversational interview and get structured feedback on your answers. We include Gemini Live below for that reason. If you used Interview Warmup's question lists before, our free AI interview practice set covers similar ground for AI-related roles.

Which AI interview platform should you use for each round?

Match the platform to the round, because no single tool covers everything well. Most candidates need two: one for speaking practice and one for the technical round.

The best AI interview practice platforms

How we chose: we checked each platform's official page for what it practises, whether it is free, freemium or paid, and whether its AI gives feedback you can act on. We favoured tools with a usable free tier, since most freshers are not earning yet. We did not include recruiter-side hiring software. Prices and free limits change, so confirm on the official site before paying.

  1. 1. Aced (formerly Exponent)

    Price:
    Free monthly credits; membership paid
    Format:
    Peer and AI mock interviews
    Best for:
PM, data, ML and system design

Aced is the platform previously called Exponent, and Pramp's peer mock interviews now run on it too. You can book live mock interviews with other candidates over video, and for behavioural, product, system design and data science or ML rounds, Aced's AI transcribes the session and grades it against hiring rubrics. It also has an AI interviewer and courses for PM, software, data, ML and AI engineering roles.

The catch: the practice tool is free with a monthly credit allowance; unlimited practice and the full course library need a paid membership. Its question style leans towards US big-tech interviews, so adjust for Indian service-company rounds.

  2. 2. Gemini Live

    Price:
    Free; paid plans
    Format:
    Voice conversation
    Best for:
Free spoken HR and behavioural practice

Gemini Live is the voice mode in Google's Gemini app, and Google's own interview tips article suggests using it to simulate a conversational interview with instant, structured feedback. Tell it the role, the company type and the round, ask it to interview you one question at a time, and request feedback on structure using the STAR method after each answer.

The catch: it is a general assistant, not a dedicated interview product, so you write the setup prompt yourself and there is no scoring history. Feedback quality depends on how clearly you ask. The app is free, with paid Google AI plans that add higher limits.

  3. 3. Unrot AI

    Price:
    Free
    Format:
    MCQ, flashcards, scenarios
    Best for:
    AI concept questions by role

Unrot AI covers the AI knowledge part of interviews, which most mock interview tools skip. Its role-specific decks span 12+ roles, including product manager, software engineer, data analyst and AI/ML, in three formats: multiple-choice, flashcards and scenario questions. Each answer gets instant feedback with the reasoning, and a readiness score shows how prepared you are. Sessions take about five minutes, and it is free on Android, iOS and the web.

The catch: Unrot AI's decks are question practice, not a spoken mock interview, and it does not run coding rounds. Use it with Gemini Live or Aced for speaking, and LeetCode or InterviewBit for coding.

  4. 4. InterviewBit

    Price:
    Free practice and mock assessments
    Format:
    Coding problems, peer mocks
    Best for:
    Placement coding rounds

InterviewBit, from the Scaler team, is built for tech placement and coding interview preparation. It offers a large bank of coding problems, interview guides, free mock assessments with real-life questions from tech companies, and peer mock interviews with hand-picked questions, plus an online compiler for C, C++, Java, Python and JavaScript.

The catch: the AI element is limited; the value is in the problem bank and structured practice rather than AI feedback on your answers. Expect prompts towards Scaler's paid programmes. Pick it for DSA practice aimed at Indian product and service company placements.

  5. 5. LeetCode

    Price:
    Freemium
    Format:
    Coding problems, contests
    Best for:
    DSA for product companies

LeetCode remains the standard place to practise data structures and algorithms for product company coding rounds. The free account covers most of the problem bank, contests, discussions and the built-in editor, and its study plans give you a sequence to follow instead of random problems.

The catch: company-tagged question lists and some problems sit behind LeetCode Premium, and the platform has no spoken mock interviews, so you still need to practise explaining your approach aloud. Check current Premium features on the official site. Pick it if your target companies run DSA-heavy online assessments.

  6. 6. HackerRank Interview Preparation Kit

    Price:
    Free
    Format:
    Curated coding challenges
    Best for:
    Online coding assessments

HackerRank's free Interview Preparation Kit groups coding challenges by the concepts companies test most, such as arrays, hashmaps, sorting, strings, greedy algorithms and search, starting with warm-up problems. HackerRank also sells online coding tests to employers, so practising here makes its editor familiar before a real assessment.

The catch: it is a problem set, not an AI coach, and hints come from discussion and editorial sections rather than personalised feedback. Pick it if you want a short, focused list rather than LeetCode's huge bank.

  7. 7. interviewing.io

    Price:
AI interviewer free to try; human mocks paid
    Format:
    Anonymous human and AI mocks
    Best for:
    Experienced engineers

interviewing.io offers anonymous mock interviews with senior engineers from companies such as Google, Meta and Amazon, covering coding, system design, ML and behavioural rounds. It also has an AI Interviewer that runs coding and system design interviews in a big-tech style and gives detailed feedback, with over 200 problems from Beyond Cracking the Coding Interview available free.

The catch: the human mock interviews are paid and aimed at experienced software engineers targeting large tech firms. Freshers preparing for campus placements will get more value from InterviewBit or LeetCode first.

  8. 8. Yoodli

    Price:
    Freemium
    Format:
    AI roleplay with speech analytics
    Best for:
    Fluency and delivery

Yoodli is an AI communication coach that runs private roleplays, including interview practice, and reports on pacing, conciseness and how you start your sentences. If your answers are right but come out rushed or full of fillers, it shows you exactly where.

The catch: the free Starter plan includes only a handful of lifetime sessions; regular practice needs a paid Pro or Advanced plan. It improves delivery, not technical content, so pair it with a question source such as our freshers' AI interview questions.

  9. 9. Big Interview

    Price:
    Paid; some colleges provide access
    Format:
    Video practice with AI feedback
    Best for:
    Structured interview training

Big Interview combines interview lessons, an interview simulator with realistic questions and VideoAI feedback on your delivery and clarity. Big Interview also sells access to universities and career centres, so ask your placement cell whether your college has it before paying yourself.

The catch: the individual plans on its official pricing page are paid, and the content is built mainly around US hiring. Pick it only if your college already provides access or you want a structured course on interviewing itself.

  10. 10. Final Round AI

    Price:
Paid for practice; limited free tier
    Format:
    Job-specific AI mock interviews
    Best for:
    Rehearsing a specific job

Final Round AI's mock interviews run against a target job, with eight scenarios: general, coding, system design, behavioural, product case, data or ML, salary negotiation and recruiter screen, followed by a debrief on weak spots. That job-specific setup makes rehearsal feel close to the real round.

The catch: mock interviews need a paid Pro subscription; the free tier is limited to setting up goals, and the site states there is no free trial. Its best-known feature is a live "copilot" that suggests answers during real interviews, which many employers would treat as cheating. Use the practice side only.

How do you practise for an AI interview for free?

Combine a free question source, a free speaking tool and a free coding platform, and practise in short daily sessions for two to three weeks. A plan we recommend:

  1. Days 1 to 5: revise core concepts for your role with Unrot AI's decks or our question sets for data analysts, product managers or machine learning roles.
  2. Days 6 to 10: run one spoken mock a day with Gemini Live. Record yourself and listen back once.
  3. Days 11 to 15: for technical roles, solve two coding problems a day on LeetCode, InterviewBit or HackerRank, explaining your approach aloud.
  4. Days 16 to 20: book a peer mock on Aced with your free credits, and fix the two weakest areas it flags.

Keep a single document of your answers to common questions. By the end, you will have tested stories for "tell me about a project" and "how do you use AI at work".

Is it okay to use AI during a real interview?

No, not unless the interviewer explicitly allows it. Using a hidden AI assistant to feed you answers during a live interview misrepresents your skills, and if it is spotted, you are likely to lose the offer.

Practice tools are fair game; live-answer tools are not. Several interview copilots market "stealth" modes that hide on-screen suggestions from screen sharing, which tells you how employers view them. Interviewers can often spot fed answers by asking follow-ups, changing the problem halfway or asking you to explain a past decision in detail.

Some interviews now permit AI tools openly, for example a take-home task where you may use an assistant. In those cases, ask what is allowed and be ready to explain every line you submit. Our generative AI interview questions cover how to talk about your own AI use honestly.

What mistakes do candidates make with AI interview practice?

The most common mistake is practising only by reading answers instead of saying them aloud under time pressure. Interviews test retrieval and delivery, not recognition.

Other mistakes to avoid:

  • Memorising scripts. Interviewers ask follow-ups. Learn the idea, not the paragraph.
  • Ignoring the AI round. Many roles now include questions on LLMs, hallucinations and responsible use. Revise them even for non-AI jobs.
  • Only coding, never explaining. In coding rounds, say your approach before you type.
  • Paying too early. Exhaust the free tiers first, then pay for one tool that fixes your specific weakness.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI interview platform for practice?

There is no single best platform. Aced is strong for peer and AI mock interviews in PM, data and ML roles, Gemini Live is a free option for spoken HR practice, LeetCode and InterviewBit cover coding rounds, and Unrot AI covers AI concept questions by role. Most candidates need one speaking tool and one technical tool.

Is there a free AI mock interview platform?

Yes. Gemini Live in the Gemini app is free to use for spoken mock interviews, Aced gives free users monthly practice credits, and Unrot AI's role-specific interview decks are free. InterviewBit and HackerRank offer free coding practice. Paid plans add unlimited sessions and deeper feedback.

Is Google Interview Warmup still available?

We could not find it live in October 2026. Its old page now redirects to a general Grow with Google article on interview tips, which suggests using Gemini Live in the Gemini app to simulate a conversational interview instead. Check Google's site in case the tool returns.

Which AI interview platform is best for freshers in India?

Freshers usually get the most from free tools: InterviewBit or LeetCode for placement coding rounds, Gemini Live for HR and behavioural practice, and Unrot AI's decks for AI concept questions. Add Aced's free peer mock interviews once you are comfortable answering out loud.

How do I prepare for an AI-led interview from a company?

Treat it like a real interview, because it is one. Find out the format, such as one-way video or a coding test, then rehearse in the same format: camera on, timed answers and no retakes. Speak clearly, structure answers with STAR, and test your internet and lighting beforehand.
